UK Version 1[]

Tinky Winky, Dipsy and Laa-Laa march on a hill counting to 3. Then, they run away. The Teletubbies watch some children learn about the number three. Dipsy climbs a steep hill. Then, the windmill spins and Dipsy runs down the hill. The Teletubbies watch the Three Ships sail through Teletubbyland. Then, they do the Walking Dance before Tubby Bye-Bye.

Tinky Winky, Dipsy and Laa-Laa march. Then, they watch children learn the number three. Then, three Teletubbies (Tinky Winky, Dipsy and Laa-Laa) find three flowers and three trees. Then, they have Tubby Toast, but there are four pieces. Po comes to the house and has the other Tubby Toast. Then it's time for Tubby Bye-Bye.

Plot (US Version #1)[]

The Teletubbies do The Falling Down Dance before they go watching some children learning about the number 3. Later, a book appears in Teletubbyland. The book has pictures of rabbits in it. Laa-Laa enjoys counting the rabbits in the book. Afterwards, the Magic Windmill spins, and Laa-Laa joins the other Teletubbies as they go watching The Three Ships before the Magic Windmill stops spinning for Tubby Bye-Bye.

Plot (US Version #2)[]

In the Teletubbies Everywhere segment, Tinky Winky draws a triangle, there are 3 of Dipsy's hats, and the film from India shows children demonstrating the number 3. Po rides into the Home Hill on her scooter, and Dipsy comes down the slide in his hat. Dipsy and Po have a Big Hug, and the Magic Windmill spins. The Teletubbies watch children have fun riding their trikes. The Teletubbies run around the house and have big hugs before the Magic Windmill spins. Then, they watch The Three Ships sail through Teletubbyland before the Magic Windmill stops spinning for Tubby Bye-Bye.

Trivia[]

  • Laa-Laa was the boo shouter in both UK Versions and US Version 2. Po was the boo shouter in the US Version 1.
  • Dipsy was the missing Teletubby for both UK Versions and US Version 2. Po was the missing Teletubby in the US Version 1.
  • The US Version of Numbers 3 aired on June 18, 1998.
  • Tinky Winky is picked for the TV Event.
  • At the beginning of both episodes, there's a rare opening shot. This is the opening shot of Field 10.
  • Both versions of the episodes reuse the opening segment from Cafe Chocolate. The differences are in both versions, the segment is mirrored. In Version 1, after Tinky Winky, Dipsy and Laa-Laa run away, the footage is then reversed and they walk backwards down the hill, and then the camera cuts to the Windmill spinning for the Numbers - 3 (V1) video. In Version 2, there is no music playing at all and it shows the windmill spinning before they run away to watch the Numbers - 3 (V2).
  • Version 1 is the first episode where the Teletubbies giggle during the Walking Dance. However, some of the giggling is not heard. The Teletubbies would start giggling during the whole dance in its next appearance, Animals - Fish.
  • The US Version has The Falling Down Dance (with a rare windmill clip) at the start instead of The Walking Dance at the end.
  • The UK Version #1 is one of two episodes to feature the first version of The Walking Dance, the other episode was See-Saw.
