Teletubbies Ident from the channel

PBS Kids (originally called PTV from 1994 to 1998) is the programming block and digital TV channel that aired the original Teletubbies in the United States. The show first aired on PBS on April 6th, 1998 with the first episode airing there being "Emily and Jester".

When Teletubbies aired in America, there were different plots between the UK and US airings. Also, the narrator for the U.S. version of the show was Rolf Saxon. The Lion and Bear were never in any of the US episodes due to that Magical Event being too scary for audiences.

The spin-off, Teletubbies Everywhere, first aired on PBS Kids in 2003. It was typically aired as part of the original show in the first half rather than on its own.

When the PBS Kids channel was dropped and replaced by PBS Kids Sprout in 2005, Teletubbies was one of the shows that was ported over to the new channel.

PBS' rights to Teletubbies expired in 2008, and the show was officially removed from the PBS Kids block on August 29th of that year. The last episode to air on PBS Kids was an Everywhere episode called "Handshapes: Fish".

Nearly eight years after Teletubbies was removed from PBS Kids, the show was added to the Noggin app's roster of shows to coincide with the reboot airing on Nick Jr.

Other shows included Peg + Cat, Arthur, Odd Squad, Pinkalicious and Peterrific, Jim Henson's Sid the Science Kid, Angelina Ballerina, Corduroy Bear, Between the Lions, and Elliot Moose.
