Trivia

  • Many of the voice actors listed here have been involved with foreign dubs of other well known tv programmes and films. See the Talk Page.
  • Tinky Winky's original French and Flemish voice were both provided by Flemish voice actor Rafaël Troch. For both languages, he made Tinky Winky sound like a young boy. However, after Emily and Jester, he began to make his French voice sound more older while his Flemish voice remained child-like. Rafaël Troch passed away on the 10th of January 2010, so when the reboot series began, he was replaced by Frédéric Meaux for the French version. It is currenlty unknown if there is a Flemish dub of the reboot series, so it is unknown who any of the voice actors are.
  • In the Spanish dub of the original series, Tinky Winky was originally voiced by Alex Saudinós. His voice for Tinky Winky was high pitched, child-like and energetic. He voiced Tinky Winky for most of the early episodes. For the rest of the original series, Tinky Winky was voiced by a different unknown voice actor. This voice actor gave Tinky Winky a lower pitched and calmer voice.
  • Dipsy's Dutch voice is provided by Huub Dikstall. In the original series, he only voiced Dipsy in the 1997- early 1999 episodes. It is unknown who his replacement voice actor is. However, he would later return to voice Dipsy in the Dutch dub of the reboot series. Marjolien Algera continued to voice Laa-Laa until series 2 of the reboot. It is unknown who her replacement voice actress is. Fred Meijer returned for the reboot where he only voiced the male Voice Trumpets.
  • In the Italian dub of the original series after Putting Angus to Bed, Nanni Baldini, Fabrizio Vidale and Ilaria Latini were replaced by Omar Vitelli, Silvio Anselmo and Giulia Tarquini. These replacement voice actors completley changed Tinky Winky, Dipsy and Po's voices making them sound nothing like their original voices. Nanni Bladini gave Tinky Winky a low pitched energentic voice, then Omar Vitelli made him sound slightly higher pitched and more goofy sounding. Fabrizio Vidale gave Dipsy a happy high pitched voice, then Silvio Anselmo made his voice even higher and a mix of both happy and nervous sounding. Ilaria Latini gave Po a very cute high pitched baby-like voice, then Giulia Tarquini made her voice a lot lower pitched and less cute sounding. Even though these new voice actors became invloved after Putting Angus to Bed, Baldini, Vidale and Latini still voiced Tinky Winky, Dipsy and Po in any episodes after that that had segments that were featured in the VHSs' and regardless of the different voices, their voices were still always heard in the intro, TV Events, Magic Events (except Little Bo Peep), dances and Tubby Bye-Bye. Some of the earlier episodes including The Grand Old Duke of York and See-Saw have the replacement voice actors. It may be possible that these episodes weren't dubbed until much later. The voice actors for all the Teletubbies in the reboot series made their voices sound more like the original voice actors rather than the replacement actors.
  • Tinky Winky's original Finnish voice actor Jarmo Koski is the Narrator in the reboot series. It is unknown why he does not voice Tinky Winky for the reboot.
  • Tinky Winky's Polish voice is probably the most different out of all his foreign voices. His voice actor Krzysztof Zakrzewski is in fact the oldest voice actor to voice Tinky Winky (he recently turned 71, so he would have been in his early 50's when working on Teletubbies). His voice for Tinky Winky is very deep and is not very different from his regular speaking voice. Jacek Labijak voiced Tinky Winky in series 1 of the reboot in Polish. His voice for Tinky Winky is very similar to Krzystof Zakrzewski's voice. However, in the series 2, all of the voice actors were changed (the names are currently unknown). While Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po's voices sound like decent impressions, Tinky Winky's voice is completely different. His voice is higher pitched and sounds more goofy.
